Bateel\u2019s organic date farms are nestled in a fertile oasis in the Al Ghat region of Saudi Arabia, north of the capital Riyadh. Over 100,000 date palm trees grow, basking in the temperate climate and naturally flowing sweet irrigated water. This unique terroir lends to the inimitable taste of Bateel dates.<\/p>\n

At Bateel, we take great pride in our sustainable farming practices. Every date palm is watered from the naturally occurring desert wadi through the strategically placed irrigation system which is channelled across the farm. This enables farmers to recycle and preserve the readily available water of the land. Bateel groves also produce nearly 2,000 tonnes of organic waste per year, all of which is returned to the farm as nutrient-rich compost.<\/p>\n<\/div>

In order to promote growth and size development of dates, our skilled farmers apply the Single Date Thinning method. This is where 80 to 90% of the dates are removed leaving the remaining dates with a healthier environment. Each year, we harvest more than 3,000 tonnes of the highest quality,\u00a0organic dates<\/a>. Staying true to tradition, our farmers climb the majestic date palms several times over the course of the season in order to pick each date at the perfect time.<\/p>\n

As soon as the dates are harvested, they are immediately stored to halt further ripening and lock in flavours. The fruit is then cleaned using state-of-the-art technologies, before being assessed and graded to match stringent standards for size, colour, translucency and skin condition. This ensures quality and consistency, and is why every Bateel date is considered to be the finest in the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>
